Problem
One of the biggest concerns of students is if they will find a job in their field after finishing their studies. Before choosing a program, they do exhaustive research on post-secondary institutions, and the questions are always the same. Will I find a job when I finish this program? How many people have already taken it? How many of them are working in the industry? These inquiries are extremely important for students because they are not only investing financially in a program but also investing their time since graduating from a post-secondary institution requires dedication and commitment.
Solution
Nexum is a platform that connects students and alumni of a post-secondary institution, helping their job search by increasing their network. On the other side, institutions will be able to collect information on their students and ex-students and use this data to promote each program.

Design Process
Considering the different personas Nexum has, the app drives users to two separate dashboards. They can log in as students/alumni or post-secondary institutions. In addition to a students list, job board and profile section, institutions also have access to data visualization to keep track of their students. The navigation menu easily guides users through the dashboard, with sections that focus on delivering short and precise content. Every module of the dashboard has clear actions to be taken.
As for the user interface, Nexum explores flat design to deliver a clean, simple and modern layout. Pop-ups are used for adding content such as new job posts and keep users on the same page, making the navigation throughout the app easy and smooth. Lastly, all cards and lists were designed to save space on the page and make the content concise.

Logo Explanation
The word nexum comes from the Latin, nexus, which means links and connections. Different colours were used to create the logo since the platform is connecting students from all over the world, involving multiple cultures. The typeface used for the logo was Quicksand due to its rounded corners, which matches the illustration.

Heebo is a clean and modern sans-serif typeface with large x-height, which accounts for good legibility and readability. This font was chosen to match the modern look of Nexum application.

Colour Explanation
A dark tone of blue was chosen as the primary colour for the Nexum design since blue is one of the most common colours among social media platforms, and it’s crucial to emphasize the community aspect of the app throughout the user experience.
