Alan de Mello

I had the pleasure of managing and working with Alan during his time at Skwachàys Lodge Aboriginal Hotel and Gallery, where he made a significant impact in communications, marketing and sales. Alan looked after the Gallery online store and social media presence, resulting in boosted sales and heightened brand visibility. He consistently highlighted the great Skwachàys artwork and gift items in social media posts. His contributions to various events, especially the 2020 crowdfunding campaign and multiple live-streamed special Skwachàys programs were invaluable, helping raise visibility and crucial funds for Indigenous housing support during the COVID-19 pandemic. Alan’s teamwork, communication skills and marketing expertise were commendable throughout. A true asset to any team!

I worked with Alan during our time at Langara College on the development of Pawsome, a mobile app project. Alan’s leadership in UI/UX design was exceptional, as he oversaw the wireframing process, providing a clear roadmap for our project’s development. His HTML and CSS skills were invaluable in crafting an impressive landing page. Beyond his technical abilities, Alan’s communication skills stood out. He actively engaged with both designers and developers, ensuring seamless collaboration throughout the project. His presentation of the design aspects during our project showcase demonstrated his excellent presentation skills. I highly recommend him for any UI/UX design role.
